Zorbax StableBond

ZORBAX 80Å StableBond columns are made using bulky, patented, unique silanes that sterically protect the siloxane bond. Acid labile endcapping reagents are not used. The result is vastly improved column life and extraordinary chemical and temperature stability in the pH 1–6 range for a wide variety of phases (SB-Aq, SB-C3, SB-CN, SB-Phenyl, SB-C8, and SB-C18). Excellent peak shape is expected for many basic compounds because of the ultrapure Rx-SIL support.

Zorbax Eclipse XDB

Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse XDB columns – C18, C8, Phenyl and CN – provide four bonded phase choices for method development optimization. These columns provide good peak shape over a wide pH range (2–9) for additional method development flexibility with one family of columns. Eclipse XDB columns can be used for method development at low pH (2–3) and the same column can be used for method development in the mid pH (6–8) region.

Zorbax Extend

Agilent Zorbax Extend-C18 columns incorporate a unique patented bidentate silane, combined with a double-endcapping process that protects the silica from dissolution at high pH - up to pH 11.5. Columns are best applied for separations of compounds that are either (1) basic and have little or no retention at low or intermediate pHs, (2) more stable or more soluble at high pH, or (3) basic and show poor peak shape at low or intermediate pH.

Zorbax Original

Agilent Original ZORBAX columns are made with Type A silica and are useful for many applications of acidic or neutral compounds. These columns have a higher activity level and are therefore useful for separating isomers (e.g. cis-trans, geometric) or other compounds where silanol activity enhances selectivity. These columns are used in many established methods

Zorbax Bonus RP

Agilent Zorbax Bonus-RP columns provide unique selectivity and applicability for mid pHs with an embedded amide linkage in the C14-alkyl chain. At pH 7 Bonus-RP provides excellent peak shape for even the most challenging basic compounds. Bonus-RP is protected from hydrolysis at low pH using the same sterically protecting bulky side chains as StableBond, and also is triple endcapped to minimize silanol interactions and improve stability at mid pH. Bonus-RP can be used without phase collapse in 100% aqueous mobile phases.

Zorbax Eclipse Plus

Eclipse Plus columns provide the ultimate in performance for silica-based columns. Peak shape for the Eclipse Plus is excellent for the most challenging basic compounds, improving efficiency and resolution with these sample types. These results are achieved by improvements in the silica manufacturing and bonding technology, which is completely controlled by Agilent. To achieve fast method development and superior productivity, choose an Eclipse Plus column with high-resolution 1.8 µm particles

Zorbax Rx/Rx -Sil

ZORBAX Rx columns are made from pure porous silica microspheres and are optimized for high throughput analysis. Rx-C18 is recommended for alternate selectivity at low pH relative to Eclipse XDB-C18 and StableBond SB-C18. With low acidity and metal content, Rx-SIL is ideal for normal-phase separation of polar compounds that exhibit poor peak symmetry on more acidic silica. The Rx-SIL is also stronger than other silica types and is less acidic than the ZORBAX-SIL.

Rx columns are available in 1.8, and 5 μm particle sizes for high speed, high resolution and analytical separations.

Zorbax PSM

ZORBAX PSM columns are manufactured using rugged ZORBAX SIL porous silica microspheres (PSM) and can be used for molecular size separations on most synthetic and natural polymers. Unlike polymeric media, the silica is not swelled by organic or aqueous mobile phases and resists reactive species and strong acids present in certain analyses.
