Qualitative Additive analysis of tire rubber using Py-GCMS

The components that make up an automobile tire are numerous. It includes different natural and man-made polymers (Natural rubber (NR), Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), polybutadiene rubber (PBD), antioxidants (6PPD, 7PPD, IPPD, TMQ, etc), accelerators (DPG (Diphenyl Guanidine), TBBS (N-tert-butyl-2-benzothiazole sulfenamide), DCBS (N, N’-dicyclohexyl-2-benzothiazole sulfenamide), etc) and different organic oils. Each component of a tire used to make automotive tires is specially made to meet the various needs of each function. To ensure that the rubber is molded with additives and rubber ingredients suited for a certain part of the tire, various rubber formulas are employed.
