The Right Mill For First-Rate Analysis

FRITSCH, a German company with a rich experience of more than 100 years, offers a wide selection of high-performance mills with various comminution principles for every application.

The quality of every product or material analysis depends on the quality of sample preparation. Therefore, it is very important to consider all the individual milling parameters in order to make an informed choice: material properties of the sample such as density, degree of hardness, feed size, sample quantity, grinding time, desired final fineness, temperature sensitivity or residual moisture – all the factors are significant.

Optimal Sample Preparation for First-Rate Analysis

Planetary Mills

HIGH-SPEED AND VERSATILE

Planetary Mills are ideally suited for fine grinding of hard, medium-hard, soft, brittle, tough and moist materials. The comminution of the material to be ground takes place primarily through the high-energy impact of grinding balls in rotating grinding bowls.
The grinding can be performed dry, in suspension or in inert gas. In addition to comminution, you can use Planetary Mills for mixing and homogenising of emulsions and pastes or for mechanical alloying and activation in materials research.

Disk Mills

FAST AND FINE

Disk Mills are suitable for fine grinding of medium particle sizes of soft to hard, brittle and temperature-sensitive solids. The material to be ground is comminuted by pressure and shearing action between two counteracting grinding disks with coarse interlocking teeth. The grinding parts are available in hardened steel cast, manganese steel, hardmetal tungsten carbide and zirconium oxide to prevent undesired abrasion.

Jaw Crusher

POWERFUL AND ROBUST

Jaw Crushers are ideal for pre-crushing of very hard, hard, medium-hard, brittle, tough and temperature-sensitive materials. The sample is crushed under high pressure between one fixed and one movable crushing jaw. The grinding parts are available in various steel types, hardmetal tungsten carbide and zirconium oxide to prevent undesired abrasion.

Knife Mills

REPRODUCIBLE COMMINUTION FOR A WIDE RANGE OF SAMPLES

The quietly operating Knife Mill PULVERISETTE 11 is the ideal laboratory mixer for very fast and gentle comminution and homogenisation of moist, oily and fatty as well as of dry, soft, medium-hard and fibrous samples. The specially curved knife blades of the PULVERISETTE 11 achieve with up to 56,000 cutting processes per minute, significantly faster a homogeneous sample than comparable instruments at the same grinding time and rotational speed. And in reverse mode, the PULVERISETTE 11 enables a better thorough mixing if necessary.

Rotor Mills

POWERFUL AND FAST

Rotor and Beater Mills are ideal for pre-crushing and fine comminution of soft to medium-hard, brittle, fibrous and temperature-sensitive materials in analytic laboratories or industry. The sample is comminuted at high speed by impact and shearing forces. The final fineness of the samples depends on the selected sieve insert. To avoid undesired abrasion, the Variable Speed Rotor Mills can be equipped with rotors made of stainless steel, pure titanium, hardmetal tungsten carbide or zirconium oxide. The Cross Beater Mill is available with a grinding insert either made of cast iron or stainless steel, which is harder.
