Reformulated gasoline (RFG) was an outcome of the USA 1990 Clean Air Act, which required the reduction of volatile organic compounds and other toxics emitted during combustion in gasoline engines. To achieve CO emission targets, the regulation controls the oxygen content in gasoline.

Agilent Reformulated Fuel Analyzers use GC to measure various oxygenates, benzene and heavier aromatics according to ASTM and EN methods. Select a configuration aligned with published methods or a custom analyzer to meet your specific needs.

Reformulated Fuel Analyzers

Petroleum fuels are the most commonly used non-renewable source of energy in the 21st Century. These fuels contain different chemical components such as Ethers, Alcohols, Esters, Aromatics, and other oxygenates. These chemicals are crucial for efficient ignition and performance. At the same time, it is also very important to control the level of these chemicals as per international compliance in the finished products.

The GBA Fuel Analyzer is used to identify and quantify the concentration of these specific chemicals in the finished products. The data obtained is then processed and analyzed using the advanced OpenLab CDS software.
